Christmas is just around the corner, with the most magical time of the year fast approaching, you might be wondering what’s on in Warwickshire if you live at our Wootton Hall residential park.

To help you get in the festive spirit and enjoy all that’s on offer, we’ve put together a list of the top Christmas activities in Warwickshire.

Christmas at the Castle

Warwick Castle is the jewel in the county’s crown, and it really comes into its own at Christmas. There are a number of events being held at the castle this Christmas, including the popular Light Trail. Enjoy a 45-minute walk under glistening festive lights in the grounds of the castle – perfect for a merry evening out!

If you’re good at ice skating (and even if you’re not), head to the East Front Ice Rink within the castle and put your skates on for a fun-filled 45-minute session. If you weren’t feeling particularly festive, a few laps around the ice rink with the castle as a backdrop is the ideal way to feel the Christmas magic.

Expecting a visit from the littlest members of your family this Christmas? If so, head to Warwick Castle for their Stories with Santa event. Children will get to head to Santa’s workshop and help the elves put a game together. After the game is complete, children are welcomed to the library where Mr and Mrs Claus will be waiting to read some Christmas tales.

Whilst you’re in the castle, book a ticket to visit the state rooms adorned with the most beautiful decorations and lights. You’ll also get to see the iconic 20ft Christmas tree, perfect for a leisurely afternoon of festive joy.

Christmas Markets

Christmas in Warwickshire wouldn’t be complete without a visit to a Christmas market. Luckily, there are lots to choose from in Warwickshire, so you’re spoilt for choice! The most popular market in the area is the Royal Leamington Spa Christmas market which boasts a wide array of artisan and independently crafted Christmas food, drink, and gifts.

For something a little different, try the annual Victorian Evening. There are stalls and amusements aplenty, all themed around the Victorian era with outfits to boot. There are Christmas craft drop-ins, plus lots of mince pies and mulled wine.

To find about the range of other Christmas markets taking place in Warwickshire, search online for specific dates and any applicable entry fees.

Light Switch On

Like many places around the UK, attending a light switch on is one of the most traditional Costwold Christmas events. There are several light switch on events taking place this year, including in the larger locations like Bath, Cheltenham, and Gloucester, but if you’d prefer something more intimate, head to some of the chocolate box villages like Tetbury and Burford.

You can find more information about the light switch on events by searching online for each specific location.
