Bredon View- Cotswolds

Our Bredon View caravan park is an ideal festive getaway for a relaxing, serene and intimate family Christmas. Nestled in the gorgeous countryside close to the popular destination of the Cotswolds, this holiday hire park will give you a luxurious Christmas break. Spend quality time with your loved ones while immersing yourself in nature, from roaming deer to soaring birds! Plus, there’s so many fun and exciting festive activities in the surrounding area of this park that you can give a Christmas like no other!

Marvel at magical Christmas lights

There are so many magical Christmas lights to marvel at around the Cotswolds area that brings festive joy to everyone. The most popular choice for twinkling lights is Broadway Christmas lights. They light up the village to transform it into a magical festive place children will be inspired by. You could get into the festive spirit early by visiting for Broadway’s Christmas Lights Ceremony on the 16th of November 2024 as it’s only 20 minutes away from our Bredon View Park. You and your family can see the quaint village light up in a twinkling festive glow!

There is also the illuminated light trail at Blenheim Palace which is a must-see Christmas lights event. It’s a little further to travel from our park but is still only an hour away and is worth the drive! You can follow the sparkling lights through the gardens and explore glowing magical tunnels. There are even mesmerising reflections in the stunning lake too! After following the enchanting lights, you can unwind with hot chocolate and mince pies at their very own Christmas market.

Or you could travel to Westonbirt Arboretum to see the brand-new light trail that provides you with a stunning view of the Arboretum glowing in the dark. You can walk through illuminated trees and let the kids spot Father Christmas! This is truly an experience you don’t want to miss and it’s worth the hour’s drive.

Visit Christmas markets

Christmas markets are a festive tradition that marks the beginning of festivities for many. They are a magical experience for everyone and are a great way to pick up some unique gifts in the many wooden stalls! Draped in colourful twinkling lights and Christmas music floating through the air, Christmas markets is the ultimate festive shopping experience. You can even grab a bite to eat with delicious food stalls, allowing you to indulge in various foods from burgers and hot-dogs to sweet treats like pancakes. You can even try tasty, mulled wine or have a sweet hot chocolate that instantly warms you up.

There are plenty of Christmas markets across the Cotswolds, with many being close by to Bredon View! Drive 30-to-40 minutes to reach these epic Christmas markets and treat your loved ones to a festive evening of shopping and treats.

  • Moreton-in-Marsh Christmas lights switch on and market- 23rd November
  • Winchcombe Christmas Festival- 6th and 7th December
  • Chipping Campden Christmas market- 1st Saturday in December
  • Cheltenham Christmas market- 21st December-24th December

Go to Christmas festivals and events

Across the Cotswolds there are other festive events and festivals for family fun that aren’t too far from our site. A great magical event for children occurs right before Christmas at Cotswold Airport in Kemble. They hold The Flight Before Christmas from the 23rd November-24th December. This event lets kids meet Father Christmas on board a British Airways jumbo jet! Children can also experience a naughty or nice security check-in and plenty of festive activities that makes them elves for the day such as decorating gingerbread men and assembling toys.

You can immerse yourself in the Royal Marines Christmas Spectacular at Cheltenham Town Hall. This event is occurring on the 10th of December 2024 where you can watch the world-famous Royal Marines Band perform seasonal music, military marches and big band hits!

See the Cotswold reindeer

Within the scenic countryside in Ampney Crucis, near Cirencester, there are magical reindeer! Visit the Cotswold Reindeer Herd to meet and feed the reindeer during 16th November-31st December 2024. Get up close and personal to the reindeer and create wonderful festive family memories. There’s also a Santa’s Forest with lit up Christmas trees, Santa’s Grotto and tasty refreshments in Mrs Claus’ Tearooms and gift shop!

Aber Bay- Aberystwyth, Wales

Our family-friendly Aber Bay caravan hire park is situated near the popular seaside destination of Aberystwyth in Wales. It is right on the doorstep of the sheltered and picturesque Clarach Bay, so you can step out of your caravan and straight onto the beach! With plenty to do on site in our two-storey clubhouse that provides you with high-quality facilities, from a luxurious bar and restaurant to a heated indoor pool! This hire park is an ideal choice for a fun-filled festive adventure with your loved ones. There is plenty of fun activities to get involved in within our park and in the surrounding area, meaning you can have a jam-packed enjoyable Christmas break!

Aberystwyth Christmas market

Enter an enchanted festive market and fair at Nanteos Mansion. Only 18 minutes’ drive away, you can browse artisan stalls filled with handcrafted gifts and seasonal treats to enjoy. There are stalls filled with handcrafted decorations, unique gifts and other quirky gift ideas to choose from, so you can find that someone special the perfect gift. You can get hot cocoa and mulled wine to keep you warm and cosy as well as tasty seasonal treats to enjoy too!

There’s even a guided tour around the Christmas past experience at Nanteos. This immerses everyone in the family in an enchanting Christmas story. Nanteos Christmas market occurs on the 8th of December 2024 and is free to enter! Plus, your pooch can also come along for the festivities too as dogs are welcome!

The Polar Express train ride

Go on a truly magical journey on The Vale of Rheidol Railway on The Polar Express train ride! This fully immersive theatre experience recreates the famous Christmas film as it celebrates its 20th anniversary. The train ride will bring the characters to life as well as giving your family the opportunity to travel by steam train! Expect singing and dancing from the characters, iconic scenes and a special visit from Father Christmas! This is truly one of Wales’ best Christmas experiences to experience that everyone will enjoy. This event will run from 30th November-24th December and is only a short car ride from Aber Bay.

Aberystwyth Christmas lights & parade

On the 25th of November, you can experience an awe-inspiring Christmas lights switch on and parade in the heart of Aberystwyth. Watch the town flood with magical twinkling lights and enjoy a festive parade with classic Christmas music. Plus, there will also be a craft and food fair and a variety of entertainment that will take place throughout the day!

Christmas afternoon tea

For a more relaxing activity to do, you can indulge in a Christmas afternoon tea at Nanteos Mansion. Unwind in their lounge area and taste scrumptious festive treats to get everyone in the Christmas mood. The festive afternoon tea includes a selection of homemade sandwiches, festive cakes, savouries and scones that will have your family salivating. These can be washed down with unlimited cups of tea or coffee and a glass of delicious mulled wine!

Sunbeach- Cardigan Bay, Wales

Our Sunbeach holiday hire park has beautiful surroundings and is located in one of the most popular holiday destinations on the Welsh coast. Nestled near Cardigan Bay and the Cambrian Mountains, Sunbeach has stunning natural surroundings and is an exceptional place to go for a mixture of relaxation and fun-filled days for your Christmas getaway. Christmas fair at Cardigan Castle

Head to Cardigan Castle for a wintery Christmas fair that has something for everyone. With over 40 craft stalls, festive food, mulled wine and Santa’s Grotto! You can also enter the Pavilion to start browsing and shopping and from there you will be guided into the Georgian House where there’s plenty of other stalls too!

Snowdonia Christmas market

Take a browse round an artisan Christmas market that is located in the stunning Snowdonia area. This market promotes all local producers, makers and crafters and showcases handmade gifts, decorations and trinkets. Each of the traders live and work in or within 30 miles of the Snowdonia National Park, so by purchasing from these stalls you can support the local community. You can also enjoy tasty food and treats as well as delicious drinks.

Giant Lantern Parade

Travel to Cardigan Bay for a light festival like no other that everyone in the family will love! Between the 30th of November to the 20th of December 2024 the festival of light will run which includes various activities and the Giant Lantern Parade. The Small World Theatre will light more of the town on the 6th of December. See the various festive lanterns and colourful lights that will create a magical festive experience for children and everyone in the family!
