Packing for a Static Caravan Holiday | Allens Caravans
Allens Caravans

The beauty of a static caravan is that it’s a home away from home. However, this then presents difficulty when it comes to thinking about your packing list for a caravan holiday. Of course, what you need to pack will depend on an array of unique circumstances. For instance, if you’ve had your holiday home for years on end, you’ll likely already have the essentials such as towels, crockery, and tea bags. Therefore, this blog will be written with first-time holiday home owners in mind, just to make sure everyone has everything they could possibly need.

Detailed below is anything and everything you should pack to make your Allens holiday a fuss-free one.

Bedrooms

In order to create cosy bedroom spaces, don’t forget:

  • Duvets
  • Pillows
  • Bed linen
  • Cot or bed guard
  • Comfort blankets or toys
  • Nightlight

Bathroom

When it comes to kitting out the bathroom of your holiday home, don’t forget:

  • Toiletries (e.g., shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.)
  • Toilet rolls
  • Towels and a bathmat
  • Hand soap
  • Hairdryer
  • Cosmetics
  • Suncream
  • Potty

Kitchen

Since many holiday-goers decide they’ll be eating out most nights, they often don’t see a need for the kitchen essentials. Despite this, one of the perks of a holiday home is that you don’t have to eat out for every single meal. As a result, you’ll likely need some kitchen items in anticipation of your stay. Each of our holiday homes contains an oven, hob, fridge, toaster, kettle, and microwave, but you’ll be responsible for supplying the following:

  • Crockery, cutlery, and mugs/cups/glasses (these could even be paper or plastic)
  • Washing up liquid and sponges
  • Tea towels
  • Oven gloves
  • Aluminium foil
  • Kitchen roll
  • Highchair

Clothing

If there’s one thing that we can predict, it’s the unpredictability of British weather. To prepare for this, you should pack clothing for all weather circumstances. In addition to your ordinary clothes, you should also pack the following:

  • Waterproofs
  • Wellies
  • Outdoor clothing
  • Swimming costumes
  • Armbands, goggles, etc.
  • Flipflops
  • Swimming/beach towels
  • Pyjamas

Food and Drink

What food and drink you pack really depends on how many meals you’re planning to prepare in your holiday home; however, there are a few staples that you don’t want to go without. These include the following:

  • Cooking oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Condiments (e.g., tomato ketchup, mayonnaise, etc.)
  • Tea bags/coffee
  • Butter
  • Bread
  • Milk
  • Tasty treats (for the grownups, kids, and the dog, too)

If you forget any of the above staples, worry not, as our parks have shops onsite and tend to be located beside towns with plenty of amenities.

Entertainment

As previously mentioned, there’s no telling what the British weather will do, and rain may cause you to spend much of your time in your holiday home. To avoid the boredom of being indoors, you might pack the following:

  • Toys
  • Boardgames
  • Books
  • Colouring equipment
  • Electrical devices (e.g., Laptops, iPads, Nintendo Switches, etc.)
  • Chargers for all electrical devices
