Home / Blog / Holiday Parks – Rules and Regulations
Posted: October 4, 2022
A privately owned holiday park is a legal entity which can only run with a licence from the local council. This licence must be clearly displayed and will clarify conditions such as the number of homes on the site, service and amenities and health and safety.
While the site owners are legally obliged to fulfil their contractual obligations, so too are the park home owners.
Caravan park rules and regulations are established to ensure that all residents of the site can enjoy their park home in peace and that the site itself can be maintained in a good state protecting the rights and investments of all.
Holiday park owners will have their own written agreement, which outlines all the issues in more detail, and you will need to agree to and sign this agreement.
We felt it important to summarise the most important rules here to reassure you that the key objective is to keep the sites as beautiful and restful as possible for the benefit of all.
Keep your home in a good condition
Having invested in your holiday home, you will want to keep it maintained and create that dream space in which to while away your downtime. However, some people’s idea of ‘maintenance’ may be another person’s eyesore.
So, as well as keeping your park home in a good state of repair, there are also certain restrictions pertaining to the addition of extensions and alterations. In brief, they need to be in keeping with the overall aesthetic of the park and not impose or encroach on other people’s enjoyment. The Park Management needs to approve any alterations and refurbishments.
This also applies to the surrounding area
In general, the area surrounding your park home should also be kept clean and tidy, though it is the responsibility of the park management to keep trees, grass and shrubs maintained. While you are encouraged to decorate your static caravan with potted plants, shrubs, and flowers, we actively discourage you from planting in the ground as this alters the overall layout of the site and will be removed.
Caravan park site rules also state that no fences can be erected around your pitch, and only approved external storage structures can be erected with management consent.
Although this might seem overly complicated, it is important to ensure that the overall look and feel of the holiday homes are maintained to a high standard for the enjoyment of all.
Caravan park noise rules
There is nothing worse than looking for a long, peaceful holiday after a stressful few months at work, only to be assailed on all sides by the noise of parties, loud music, revving cars and other anti-social behaviour.
The conduct of our holiday home owners is of great importance to us at Allens Caravans, and we want to ensure that peaceful enjoyment is the right of everyone who spends time on our sites. To this end, we strictly enforce any caravan park rules and regulations pertaining to noise disturbance and generally anti-social behaviour to ensure it does not get out of control.
– When you join the Allens family as an owner, you are required to sign an agreement relating to behaviour and comportment while on site.
– As a homeowner, you are responsible for the behaviour of your family and any of your guests and visitors.
– If you have young children, they must be supervised at all times.
– Older teenagers must not play loud music excessively and create disturbances to other residents on the site.
– Music must be kept low or switched off after 11 pm. In fact, we like to encourage a general ‘time of peace and quiet’ between 11 pm and 8 am.
– While we allow the use of bikes, scooters, skateboards, and such, we expect those who use them to do so responsibly and with respect. Any complaints whereby such use is deemed a disturbance shall be taken seriously.
– Any anti-social, rude, and aggressive behaviour towards park management and their staff and towards other residents and holidaymakers will not be tolerated in any circumstances.
– Equally, although we permit holiday home owners to bring a dog on site, the behaviour of that animal is the responsibility of the individual. Should the animal be considered a disturbance through excessive noise or aggressive behaviour, then the park management will take steps to have it removed from the site.
Our obligations to you
Caravan park rules and regulations work both ways. As well as ensuring that you have a peaceful enjoyment of the park, we are contractually obliged to:
– Keep common areas in good condition. This includes all open spaces, shared paths, and communal areas.
– Repairing the ‘base’ of your pitch, on which your static caravan sits.
– Maintaining any services that are connected to, and supply your home, such as electrics, gas, and sewage.
Allens Caravans takes its obligations to protect its holiday home owners’ rights to the peaceful enjoyment of its stunning sites very seriously. That is why we have such a loyal and longstanding client base. If you would like to know more about investing in one of our holiday properties.
