Dog-Friendly Caravan Holiday | News | Allens Caravans
Allens Caravans

When it comes to booking a family getaway, you want to ensure that it’s one for the whole family - regardless of whether they have two or four legs. At Allens Caravans, you will find a holiday park that will welcome in your furry friends with open arms because we love dogs!

For many families, finding dog-friendly caravan holidays is one of the most important parts of booking the annual getaway. Dogs are our best friends, and in the United Kingdom, it is estimated that 12 million households have pets, and there’s a population of nine million dogs (according to the RSPCA). That just shows how much we love our pooches.

When cat owners go away for a few days, they are likely to ask a family member or trusted friend to pop in and fill up their food and water bowl. Dog owners, however, know that this simply isn’t a choice, and the options are to either pay for a stay at a kennel, ask a friend or family member to take their dog in while they are away or – by far the best option – bring them along. As much of a member of the family as anyone standing on two feet, many choose to bring their dog along with them – and why not?!

Dog-Friendly Caravan Holidays at Allens Caravans

Allens Caravans operates three hire caravan parks that are dog-friendly across England and Wales. These three parks are:

  • Aber Bay
  • Sunbeach
  • Bredon View

This means that your pet will be able to come and stay with you at our caravan park and inside your static caravan. It is recommended that you ask the team in charge of the park you’re planning on holidaying at about the other facilities on site – not every indoor facility at every caravan park is dog-friendly, but you’ll always be able to walk your dog outside around the park.

We understand how important it is for many of our guests to be able to experience their holiday with all their loved ones, which includes the faithful family pet. Dogs are as much a part of the family as anyone else, which is why we are proud to offer pet-friendly stays.

Kennel fees can be expensive, which means that you have to factor those into your holiday budget unless you have a friend or family member who doesn’t mind looking after them for a few days. However, some dogs do not contend well with both a change of scenery and staying with a stranger, much preferring to remain by their owner’s side. Remember, they have no idea what is going on, so when they are sent away somewhere, they may not realise that you will be coming back for them.

Scenic Long Walks Your Dog Will Love

All our holiday parks can be found in beautiful scenic locations, either set amongst stunning countryside or with a view of the beach. Wherever you stay, you will be able to take full advantage of long walks that you and your furry friend will love.

Our holiday parks can be found in Worcestershire and North Wales, two of the UK’s most scenic locations. In either area, you can explore acres of beautiful countryside. At our Welsh sites, take a stroll along the beach and enjoy the fresh air that is certain to wake you up in the morning. Aber Bay is situated on the beautiful Clarach Bay, and Sunbeach has plenty of sand, surf, and rock pools.

Bredon View in Worcestershire is just a stone’s throw away from the historic towns of Worcester and Stratford-upon-Avon, meaning you can tie in a day trip with your canine companion to explore these popular tourist locations. Additionally, you will not be far away from the Cotswolds if you are willing to drive from the park – the heart of this famously beautiful area is less than an hour’s drive away.

Why Dog-Friendly Caravan Holidays Are Popular

The reason why dog-friendly caravan holidays are popular is that it saves the hassle of having to be without, let’s be honest, your favourite member of the family. Waking up without the pooch jumping on the bed for its morning cuddles just isn’t the same. It makes you feel more at home, and that is exactly how we want our guests to feel when they book a stay with us. Do not think of your static caravan as mere accommodation but more as a home away from home.

Anyone who has a dog understands the love between pet and owner. It’s not the same as asking someone to pop in and feed the fish for a week because your dog is thoroughly dependent and reliant on you. To them, you are their entire world, and no doubt, they make up a large portion of yours.

Dogs are the perfect companions and make for a great conversation starter. Even if you are shy and retiring when with new people, they are likely to go up and introduce themselves to whomever they please! Our holiday parks are great for meeting and making new friends, so if you are worried about how to start meeting others, a pooch makes for a fantastic icebreaker!

More Than A Holiday

If the idea of a holiday that includes your dog sounds like heaven, you can always make it something available to you at any time by owning your own holiday home at our dog-friendly parks? Then you and your pet really can have a home away from home and build up favourite memories, walking routes, cosy eateries and new friends (human or canine) on visit after visit.
