Revolutionising British Camping - Allens Caravans Blog

A new British caravan manufacturer is looking to shake up the UK market for cheap caravan holidays with his new stylish trailers.

Innovative Design and Features of the Tripbuddy Camping Trailer

The Tripbuddy camping trailer made its debut in October 2013 at the popular Motorhome & Caravan Show in Birmingham, impressing others due to its aerodynamic design and sleek exterior and taking pre-orders for the new caravan well in advance.

While maintaining traditional features such as a hob cooker, fold-away shower and separate toilet section, both the modern leather trimmed interior and glazed exterior make the Tripbuddy stand out amongst the rest. It’s also full of state-of-the-art features, using a LED lighting system to provide a versatile rainbow of lighting options.

Inspired by his children asking for a trailer which wouldn’t embarrass them while on family caravan holidays, Tripbuddy founder Bill Davis now hopes to sell 500 custom-made units of the ‘cool caravan’ a year. Estimating that each trailer takes 12 to 15 weeks to make, Davis hopes that the wind tunnel tested trailer will be successfully both nationally and internationally on the caravan market.

With a history building defence vehicles for the army, Davis also built the TripBuddy to be as accessible as possible for disabled campers. With a floor height lower than traditional caravans as well as host of features, including access rails, automatic doors and even a bed hoist, the modal has been built to make it as easy as possible to use for those with mobility issues.

The rear door not only provides easy entry for both able-bodied and disabled campers, but also can be used to build an awning from the underside for additional space.

With a base price of £20,000, the trailer is also available in 3 weight classes: 1300kg, 1650kg and 2200kg. It also has a useful 100kg capability for carrying additional equipment such as mountain bikes, kayaks and much more.
