Worcestershire is a large county in the West Midlands area of England. Within its boundaries sits the Cotswolds, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Picturesque scenery spans the width and breadth of the county, with every corner offering a beautiful retreat rich in history and original architecture. With so much culture on offer and an immersive nature experience at every turn, it’s no wonder that Worcestershire is a major tourist destination in the West Midlands.

We welcome thousands of eager holidaymakers to our two Worcestershire holiday parks every year. Whilst our parks are equipped with the very best facilities, such as pitch and putt golf, swimming pools, games rooms, fishing spots and live entertainment, to name but a few, the surrounding area is incredibly beautiful and has just as much to offer visitors.

Our parks are nestled in the most beautiful areas of the county, so we always implore our guests to get out and explore the nearby area. There are so many things to do with planned days out in Worcestershire. Whether preferences consist of days for couples or even family days out in Worcestershire, there is something to suit every type of holidaymaker.

If you’re thinking of your own holiday home at Abbot’s Salford or visiting a beautiful lodge at Bredon View for your summer or half-term break, here are some of the locations you might consider for a day out in Worcestershire.

Worcestershire Days Out for Families

The county of Worcestershire is distinguished by its rolling countryside, which provides ample opportunity for families to get out and get moving together, along with enjoying picnics in some of the most stunning parks and walking trails in England.

Bredon Hill

Nearby Bredon View holiday park, you’ll find Bredon Hill, a magnificent 981ft summit that offers unrivalled views of the Cotswolds. There are multiple walking trails centred around the hill, catering to people of every age and ability. Depending on your route of choice, you will encounter a range of notable historical sites along the way, including Iron Age forts built by the Dobunni tribe in 200 BC.

In 1080, the Norman castle was built, and although it fell into disrepair, its stone was used to repair the Pershore Bridge in the 17th century. In addition to the castle, there are monoliths, including the King and Queens Stones.

At the very peak of the hill sits Parsons Folly, which takes the height of the hill to precisely 1,000ft. It is one of the jewels in the crown of Bredon Hill and laments the area as a great day out for the whole family.

West Midlands Safari Park

If you’re looking for ideas for fun days out in Worcestershire and walking trails aren’t your thing, thenWest Midlands Safari Parkis ideal. There are giraffes, elephants, tigers and lions, as well as an aquarium, lemurs, insects, bats, and hippos. There is also an Ice Age and Living Dinosaurs exhibition which is perfect for children, showcasing animals that once roamed the Earth millions of years ago.

To top the experience, there is also a theme park and multi-sensory children’s play area. There’s more than enough to keep everyone entertained for a whole day at the West Midlands Safari Park!

Days Out In Worcestershire for Adults

Worcestershire is an excellent holiday destination for couples and adult groups, specifically those who like history. There are lots to put on your itinerary; we’ve selected a few of the best days out in Worcestershire for couples, groups, and solo travellers.

Hanbury Hall

Old manor estates have a certain charm to them that makes them a perfect couples’ day out in Worcestershire.Hanbury Hallis one of Worcestershire’s hidden gems, comprising stunning gardens, impeccable paintings, and artefacts, making it a great option for a day out.

The history of the mansion dates back to 1701. It was built by William Rudhall for Thomas Vernon and his family. Thomas commissioned a grand estate that would be his lasting legacy, and so he added grandeur at every turn. Sir James Thornhill was commissioned to paint the story of Achilles on the ceiling of the great hall, making it the most notable facet of the hall.

Witley Court

Worcestershire is speckled with beautiful manor houses and estates, one of them beingWitley Court. Witley Court pre-dates Hanbury Hall by half a century or so, but unlike the former, it is derelict. The shell of the mansion and its gardens are in excellent condition, but the inside was destroyed by a great fire in 1937.

The gardens are among the finest in Europe, making the perfect backdrop for a romantic stroll on a hazy summer afternoon.
