One thing to remember when you are looking for short breaks in Wales is how important choosing the right location is because the land and what it offers is so diverse; beaches, mountains, lush forests and busy towns and cities all occupy this small country and each region offers something different.
Sunbeach Park in Llwyngwril is a rarity being perfectly situated to offer its guests all of the different experiences Wales offers; nestled between stunning coastline and majestic mountains it is easy to get overwhelmed by the natural beauty and forget the park’s proximity to busy towns like Porthmadog, the “gateway to Snowdonia National Park”. English Romantic poet, William Wordsworth visited the area (Barmouth) in the 19th century and captured the beauty and his deep admiration perfectly, declaring that “with a fine sea view in front, the mountains behind and Cadair Idris within compass of a day’s walk, Barmouth can always hold its own against any rival”.
Llwyngwril is a small, coastal village (population c.500) in Cardigan Bay, falling under the umbrella of Snowdonia National Park which protects it from commercialisation and over development. This preserves the coastal walks like the famed Mawddach Trail and the breath-taking shingle beaches that look out over the Irish Sea, many of which are home to marine wildlife like seals and dolphins as well as ancient and interesting historical sites, such as the prehistoric hill fort Castell-y-Gaer and the 12th century church on the rocks at Llangelynin.
The park itself has plenty of onsite amenities including a mini-market, a laundrette and the Driftwood Clubhouse and Restaurant. The homes at Sunbeach also benefit from facilities like free Wi-Fi, full underground services and year-round residential staff. Due to the park being a coastal gem it also offers a boat park, sea fishing and its own beach frontage.
With such beauty to explore and so many adventures to be had, why not go and explore Sunbeach Park and Cardigan Bay yourself?
