Which Camping Vehicle is Right for You? Find Out Here!
Allens Caravans

‘Mobile living’ has evolved over the centuries to encompass a wide range of different types of vehicles and constructions to embrace man’s desire to live more at one with the world around him, rather than hemmed in by immovable bricks and mortar on the street surrounded by more bricks and mortar.

Caravans, camping, static caravans, holiday homes, park homes, RVs, motorhomes, pop-up caravans, touring caravans – whatever your preference, there is an almost endless supply of options to suit the dreams and imagination of the hundreds and thousands of people who would like to close up their traditional front door and take to the road seeking a different outlook to life.

Campers will wander

For those with a bit more wanderlust, there is an array of the best caravan parks in the UK that offer temporary pitches to those exploring with a traditional caravan, camper van, pop-up caravan, or pulling a caravan trailer.

The benefits of these temporary pitches are that you could choose to stay somewhere different every week if you wanted to, leaving you free to explore every corner of this beautiful country.

While some sites will charge you on a per night basis, many also offer seasonal caravan pitches (costs vary from site to site), which last for a period of six months. While this drastically reduces your average nightly charge, it does require a big up-front cost.

Having said that, for many, the simplicity of packing the bare minimum into a pop-up caravan and having the freedom to roam is a much more cost-effective solution than a two-week package in a faceless hotel in an overseas location.

Motorhomes – the next level up

You may know motorhomes better as ‘RVs’ or Recreational Vehicle – similar to the one used in the funny follow-up film to Meet the Fockers, Meet the Parents. These extensive holiday homes on wheels are iconic for their size and comfort, packing as much luxury as possible into a limited space.

Due to their size, you need to be a confident driver to navigate your way around small towns and villages. Still, there is no denying that they offer comfortable accommodation and an opportunity to sit up high and enjoy the changing countryside as you trundle through the more rural parts of the UK.

Fees for motorhome sites are more expensive due to their size, and you would be wise to plan and book your trip as much as possible in advance as the competition for the better motorhome sites in the UK can be quite fierce.

Static caravan holidays

Static caravan holidays are a uniquely British way of enjoying a UK staycation in a cost-effective way, giving you access to some of the most beautiful country and coastal locations. Renting a static caravan for your holiday allows you to enjoy the facilities on offer, marvel at the stunning views from the clubhouse terrace, wander down to the local beaches, explore the surrounding countryside, fish in the lakes, swim in the heated pools, without a care in the world.

If you are new to static caravan holidays, we know that renting one of your holiday homes on one of our UK holiday sites would be a good way of knowing if this is a good option for you to then consider investing in your own static caravan.

Touring or static caravan holidays

The vibe is certainly different to your more traditional touring caravan holiday. For one thing, it is actually more environmentally friendly. The additional weight that is used when towing a caravan increases the overall fuel consumption of your vehicle. Although great advances have been implemented to make touring caravans as light as possible, their very nature still requires a degree of solidity and weight, so this will always need to be taken into consideration.

You might want to also take into account the time of year. Apart from December and January, you can enjoy static caravan holidays pretty much all year round – they are warm, well insulated, and comfortable, with ample room and offering a veritable home from home. While touring caravans can fulfil that sense of wanderlust, for those who prefer a bit of comfort, they soon feel more restrictive the longer you stay in them.

Residential park homes

A residential park home is the ultimate choice – this provides you with a permanent static holiday home which you can live in and use as your permanent residence all year round. Many people have invested in a residential park home, having enjoyed year after year of holiday on one of our stunning UK sites.

If you are interested in exploring investment opportunities such as the static caravans we have for sale in North Wales, currently under construction as part of a multi-million-pound site development, then contact us for further information.
